JOG deliver 92 bags of food and supplies to Storehouse
The John of Gaunt School in Trowbridge has delivered 42 'JOG Festive Food parcels' (in 84 bags) to the Trowbridge Food Bank, Storehouse. Eight additional bags of general supplies were also given to this important local charity. Storehouse Manager, Jill Neighbour, was thrilled to receive the food parcels on Friday, helped by the charity’s team of volunteers and JOG staff.
Mrs Eagle, the Charity Lead at the school, said: "We are thrilled with the support shown by our students and their families in our tutor-wide Christmas appeal. As ready-to-go parcels, the aim is to help Storehouse volunteers give them out swiftly to people over the busy Christmas period. Based on a set list complied with the charity, each parcel contains 15 essential and nice-to-have items that range from hot chocolate to hot dogs. There was real festive spirit in the air as we collected everything in and packed it up. Thank you to all the students and staff 'elves' that helped in Thursday's major operation and to all those who have donated items over the last week! Many thanks also to Aldi and M&S Food for each providing 50 carrier bags. It was our pleasure to deliver everything today and meet Jill and her dedicated team.”
As well as supporting local people, the aim of the JOG Festive Food Parcel tutor group appeal was to promote the school's values of kindness, positivity and belonging.
