NEWSLETTER 18 - 17 FEBRUARY 2022

Dear Parents and Carers,

It’s been another long and busy term with a whole range of accomplishments.

We certainly seem to be past the peak of Covid infections which is great news. Three weeks ago we had over 100 students away with Covid, and today we have only 9. I am also really pleased to announce that we have virtually all staff back in school. We are really hoping that this continues next term.

Once again there is lots of news to read about below. Finally, from me, I hope you are able to have a relaxing half-term.

During STEM club this week, the students were treated! They visited Mrs Beattie and learnt how to make honeycomb!

The year 7’s have done it again, they are undefeated after 8 matches played this season.

This week we played Clarendon A and B team as well as Matravers A and B team. The games against Clarendon were both draws at 1-1 for the A team and 0-0 for the B team. However, the games vs Matravers in storm like conditions is where the boys really stepped up with the A team winning 5-0 and the B team winning 14-0.

Man of the Match award was given to Alfie Millard and Riley Bush. Well done gentlemen on to the next one!

Year 7 End of Module GEM Task

Students had to independently design and make a product that developed their practical skills and included healthy eating elements.

3 students in Mrs Beattie’s class worked exceptionally hard to gain the golden certificate!

You may have seen in a recent newsletter that Chloe Barton and Harry Parker, both in year 11, were successful in an audition involving students from 6 different secondary schools, to host the West Wiltshire Dance Festival at The Forum in Bath.

On Tuesday 15th February, Chloe and Harry spent the day rehearsing with microphones, cameras and scripts in preparation for the event. Chloe and Harry were amazing on the night and hosted the 2-hour show with great charisma and energy in front of 1,500 people in the audience and 6 cameras and a spotlight pointed at them! They demonstrated huge resilience, confidence and maturity throughout the event and in doing so have also represented the school superbly. 

Well done Chloe and Harry, we as a school community are very proud of you!
